About the Panzer III
Designed to be Germany’s tanks for fighting other tanks, the Panzer III saw it’s successful battlefield debut during the invasion of Poland. It proved to be a reliable and wining design and was continually upgraded and refined throughout the war. The Panzer III’s hull and chassis was also used to create the highly successful series of low-profile StuG III aussault guns and tank destroyers.
The Panzer III is one of Brickmania’s most popular kits and we are constantly making upgrades and improvements. This edition incorporates a lot of upgrades over the previously more austere version. There are lots of nice “extra” features such the new 1.5 wide Brickmania Track Links, a BrickArms MG-34 on the anti-aircraft mount (in addition to the one in the hull), accessible interior spaces (upper and lower hull sections separate to reveal the interior), and more.

The WW2 US Rifleman is one of our original Brickmania minifig designs. dating back to 2013. We did plan to let this one go into retirement, but you’ve asked for more and we’ve listened. The P-51 “Mustang” was the answer to the Allied need for a long-range high performance fighter plane to escort heavy bombers deep over enemy territory. With a supercharged 12-cylinder Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, high capacity external fuel tanks, and six .50 caliber Browning M2 machine gun, the P51 could hold its own against any fighters the Axis could muster all the way to and from the bombing target. The P-51 could also be configured to carry bombs and 5″ rockets against ground targets, and was an effective fighter bomber in its own right. About the M1A1 155mm Howitzer:
The M1 155mm Howitzer was one of the main “Heavy” guns used by the US Army during World War II (M1A1 specifically refers to the most common carriage type mated to the M1 Howitzer). This powerful weapon was to destroy buildings, entrenchments and moderately dug-in artillery pieces. Its high arcing fire made it ideal for neutralizing enemy in defilade positions. There were 163 battalions equipped with the 155mm Howitzer during World War II, making it the third numerous type after the lighter 105mm and 75mm howitzers. It’s ability to fire a 100 pound shell in excess of 16000 yards , plus a sustained a rate of fire eight rounds per minute, gave the 155mm howitzer a much more powerful punch than it’s smaller cousins. The effectiveness of the 155mm howitzer is often cited as a major factor in Allied victory in Europe and its modern day equivalent (M777) still provides the back bone of US artillery support to this day.

About the M4 Hight Speed Tractor:
A need developed for a specialized vehicle to tow heavy artillery pieces to keep pace with the expected rapid pace of the mechanized armies during the liberation of Europe during World War II. The M4 High Speed Tractor was one such vehicle, designed with a 16-ton towing capacity, intended for towing medium to heavy artillery pieces. It was built on the chassis of the M3 Stuart medium tank, taking advantage of proven equipment and simplifying maintenance requirements. The M4 was equipped with a powerful towing winch, enclosed cab for the gun crew, and stowage bins for ready ammunition. Typically, when available, the M4 would be equipped two per gun, with one to tow the gun itself and the other with an additional ammunition trailer in tow.

The Type 95 “Ha-Go” Light Tank was Japan’s standard issue light tank at the onset of World War II. It featured an armored hull that could withstand all contemporay battlefield small arms, and was armed with a 37mm gun capable of firing armor-piercing and high explosive rounds. The Type 95 saw service in Manchuria, China, Southeast Asia and the Pacific island campaigns. While out-classed by more powerful Allied medium tanks, the Type 95 still provided an effective mobile punch against infantry and small fortifications throughout the entire war.

About the M3A1:
The M3A1 Half-track was the main troop transport vehicle for the US Army during World War II and the Korean War. The M3A1 Half-track was designed to carry an entire rifle squad and their equipment (they would often tow a trailer with equipment, fuel, water or ammunition). The M3A1 was fitted with an armored “pulpit” mount for a M2HB heavy machine gun and had three pintle mounts for additional machine guns. The M3A1 was the most advanced version of personnel carriers of the M3 Halftrack family, of which more than 40,000 of all types were manufactured during World War II.

About the Opel Blitz:
The Opel Blitz was the name given to various German light and middle-weight trucks built by the German Opel automobile manufacturer during 1930-1975. During the years preceding WWII, Opel was a subsidiary of General Motors. By 1934, there were four base versions offered of the 1-ton basic model, along with 14 versions of the larger 2 and 2- ½ ton trucks. From 1939, the reliable Blitz 3.6 three-ton version was used in large numbers by the German Wehrmacht during WWII.
In 1952 Opel presented the basic model in a modern rounded design, reminiscent of US pickup trucks. In the following years, Opel produced various vans and trucks with petrol engines, which was much less economical than diesel engines. In 1968, Opel finally offered a 2,100cm Indenor XDP 4.90 diesel engine, but it came too late to regain lost market shares. In 1975, the production of Opel commercial vehicles ceased.

The Pak 38 5cm Anti-Tank Gun was developed as a response to shortcomings found in the Pak 36 3.7cm AT Gun used during the Spanish Civil War. It was put into mass production in 1939 for the Wehrmacht and proved to be one of the few anti-tank weapons capable of penetrating the armor of the Soviet T-34 tank. While larger anti-tank guns would be introduced, the Pak 38 continued to be useful for the remainder of the war due to its small size and good ballistic performance.
